Today was our last day visiting with Frieda’s Dad at his home in New Oxford, Pennsylvania. A mostly quiet and relaxing day, here are a couple pictures.
On the way back to Ollie, about a quarter of a mile from the KOA Gettysburg campground, we saw these sweet critters hanging out in a wheat field:
Tomorrow we’re off to Lake Milton, Ohio where we will boondock (self-contained; no water, electrical or sewer hookups) for a night at a winery before continuing west back to Shipshewana, Indiana for two nights. Yes, we really like Shipshewana and decided to stay at the same campground as we did on Day 22, Day 23 and Day 24.
For those of you new to Oliver’s Travels, Frieda, Maddie, Skipper and I are on a 3-4 month journey away from our home in Harriman, Tennessee. Our travels have taken us as far east as Gettysburg, Pennsylvania and now we are going to head all the way to Bremerton, Washington where our youngest son is Engineer on USS Pennsylvania (SSBN 735) (Gold). We will then head as far south west as Tehachapi, California to visit a dear Naval Academy classmate of mine. In between we will visit with my sister in Eugene, Oregon and also with our youngest son and his family in Monterey, California where he is attending the Naval Postgraduate School. Then we head to Oracle, Arizona to visit with my Dad and step-Mom. After that we will head toward home in Tennessee.
Along the way, I hope to show you images of this amazing country and to also help those interested in the RV lifestyle and/or an Oliver Travel Trailer to decide if it’s right for them.
Until tomorrow…
