This morning we awoke to a truly perfect day. Birds chirping at our campsite, cool temps and absolutely crystal clear skies. We took our dear sweet time getting moving and just enjoyed everything about this wonderful place.
One of the reasons we wanted to return to this same campground and the same site (3E) as when we were here a week and a half ago was to enjoy the horses again. This time, the two moms were with their foals — a very friendly filly (far left below) and a rather shy colt (middle below).
Shipshewana has been a wonderful place to visit twice on this adventure. Having never been here before, Frieda and I now feel like we know the area well and enjoy it very much. It’s a wonderful mix of modern and Amish, agriculture and tourism with zero signs of the less desirable sights and sounds of most towns these days. Frieda and I have remarked that as soon as you drive into the adjacent county, you know it immediately. It’s just sort of magical here.
Tomorrow we head to Scott County Park in Iowa to link up with longtime great friends, Mark and Deb Deppe.
Oh my gosh those horses are so neat! It just sounds like a wonderful place to go. Have fun with your friends🤗
