Today was a planned full day in Moab, Utah so that we could visit Arches National Park, and to take care of some administrative things like shopping, propane tank fill-up some basic maintenance on Ollie.
By the way, about that propane fill-up. It was a little over 30 bucks unlike the fill-up I last did in Monterey, California at almost 90 bucks. I really do not know how folks in California tolerate it…
Here’s how things looked at our campsite this morning:
A little after 9 am, we headed to Arches National Park only to find the park was full and that we should try again in 3-5 hours. Glad we budgeted a full day! The Park Service has implemented a reservation system for most of the parks but this time of year, they do not do so at Arches. Judging by all the people trying to get in, they should probably reconsider that policy.
On the way back to our camper to take care of the things we needed to get done, we took a brief hike on one of the local trails in Moab.
The guys who maintain the bike path have a good sense of humor!
After our chores and lunch, we headed back to Arches. After about a 30 minute wait, we were in. Note the line of cars waiting in this photo from about 1,000’ feet up.
The next rock formation is one of two “elephants.”
Here is the other one. He’s coming almost straight at you in the middle of the photo.
Overall, an amazing park that I would highly recommend visiting.
After we returned home in the late afternoon, it was time to enjoy some wine and cheese.
Tomorrow, we are off to Breckenridge, Colorado!
That park is just amazing. So does the wine and cheese.🤪
