One week from today, Frieda and I will restart what was to have been a more ambitious Summer ‘22 Cross Country that we stopped early due to the death of our dear friend and neighbor, Judy Rose.
Yesterday we celebrated Judy’s life at Kingston United Methodist Church in Kingston, Tennessee. Her Obituary may be found here.
We have been staying with Wayne Rose to provide him some company and because our own home is rented out to friends who are building their own home on the lot next to ours. It’s been a bit odd to be home but not home for the last couple of weeks but we’ve truly enjoyed this time with Wayne.
Our male Parson Russell Terrier Skipper, who recently turned nine, seems to know when someone needs some extra love and companionship. He has barely left Wayne’s side this entire visit.
Wayne looked so handsome yesterday in the same suit he was married in back in 1964. So was I smart enough to get some pictures of him at the church? Of course not. I’m so mad at myself this morning! Ugh! I did, however, remember to capture this shot after we had returned home when the weight of the world seemed to have been lifted off of Wayne.
This week we plan to help Wayne with whatever he needs as we also prepare for West Quest Part Deux — an adventure that will last until mid-November as we head as far north as North Dakota, west to Washington, Oregon and California, and south through Arizona, New Mexico and Texas and everything in between! And as before, the goal is a daily post along the way.
See you in a week!
So sorry for the loss of your dear friend. Looking forward to following your travels part 2!
