Today Frieda, Maddie, Skipper and I are just hanging out. This morning, after enjoying some Rise & Roll doughnuts, our Kleen Tank friends and camping neighbors Jim and Debbie Tome departed in their 2005 Airstream, leaving a sad empty spot next to us. We’ll miss them but look forward to meeting up with them again in late September at the Kleen Tank Jamboree in Kentucky.
In the afternoon, we took a quick drive to Shipshewana where we’ll be staying for a few nights later in this journey. It’s a cute little town with many Amish folks in their buggies.
This evening we went back to Venturi pizza restaurant, this time with our Kleen Tank friend Wendy Bruce. On the way, she pointed out to me the Goshen Police Booth used to shoot at gangsters in 1930’s. What an interesting job that would have been.
As we went to bed, there was a horrific thunder storm passing through. We were a bit worried when the weather alert said seek shelter in a sturdy building. Needless to say, we said a few prayers before trying to get some sleep.
