First full day in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania

Today Frieda, Maddie, Skipper and I had a relaxing morning in our Ollie before heading out just before lunch to visit with Frieda’s father who lives in New Oxford, Pennsylvania.

While Frieda presented a few gifts to her father…

Maddie and Skipper expressed their joy at being inside a home with berber carpet!

Frieda’s Dad then played some piano for us…

…before we headed out for lunch at The Graybill Kitchen Co in Abbottstown. (A good choice if you are in the area.)

Saw this business card on the way out. Creative for sure!

After lunch, we went back to Dad’s apartment for a bit, where he proceeded to completely spoil Skipper!

A very happy and comfortable Skipper.

In the afternoon, we went to see Top Gun Maverick. By now, I’m sure most of you have seen it but we like to avoid the crowds so we waited a few weeks.

The joy of an empty theater at 4:23 for a 4:30 pm start time!

Scott: “How about a quick selfie!” Frieda: “Thanks for catching me with my mouth full of pop corn, Honey.” Dad: “Glad I didn’t stuff my face right before this picture!”

We ended the day by having dinner at the historic Dobbin House Tavern, Gettysburg’s oldest home built in 1776 and where Frieda’s dad was a strolling violinist for several years. (Also recommended if you are in Gettysburg)
