Today marks the start of week five since leaving our home in Harriman, Tennessee. In that time, we’ve definitely learned that RV life is way different than travel by car. For our whole lives, car travel has meant long days of eight or more hours of driving followed by a hotel room if necessary. With an RV, we’ve found that six hours or 300 miles is about our maximum and ideally, more like four and 200. Then, instead of one night at a campsite, at least two is best since you have to also set up and break down and we want at least one day to check out the local area.
I asked Frieda today how she’s been enjoying it so far. Her answer (with guilt in the tone) was that she feels like we’ve been on vacation for a month. Exactly! (I’m specifically looking at you John Pritsch!)
For the last couple of days as we’ve driven to my father-in-law’s home, I’ve seen this green Oliver and had to get a picture for Oliver’s Travels!
This morning we had the pleasure of attending Dad’s church, Calvary Bible Church in Hanover, Pennsylvania.
One of the church Elders taught the lesson on Acts 11:19-26 focused on the influence Barnabas had on the Apostle Paul. It was tremendous!
The rest of today’s post is about a visit to see my aunt and uncle and two of my cousins. For my free subscribers, I leave you with this evening shot of Ollie taken shortly after we got “home” today.
After church, we had a wonderful visit with my aunt and uncle and two of my cousins and their husbands. It’s not often that we can get together, but when we do, it’s always a great time.
Overall, a wonderful day of hearing the Lord’s message and then reuniting with family.
Oh, and a special shoutout to my oldest cousin Sue who was a most excellent “cruise director” for today’s visit to Camp Hill. We hope to host you back in Tennessee one day soon!
Finally catching up with your posts! Love all that family time in PA!
