Important Oliver's Travels Subscriber Update
Please take a few minutes to read this important update
Hello Oliver’s Travels readers!
Substack is growing fast and rolling out many new features to help organize content. That’s good because I’ve been struggling a bit with what I had intended Oliver’s Travels to be versus what it has become. For some advice and help, I reached out to my Substack writer friend Gayla Gray who authors SoNovelicious. To say she was a big help would be an understatement. Thank you Gayla!
My primary reason for starting Oliver’s Travels, which corresponds to what I believe the main audience desires, is a travel blog. Whether friends and family interested in where we are and and what we are doing, or folks we’ve never met who simply enjoy a good journey lived vicariously thorough others, the main Oliver’s Travels newsletter is where that will be my focus. To that end, I’m going to challenge myself to make it more of a great travel blog. This means that all current and future subscribers will automatically get all posts to the Oliver’s Travels newsletter (i.e. Home in the page navigation) along with a special newsletter I’ve created called Major Trips. Major Trips is where I’ve archived adventures like West Quest Part Deux (2022) and Tex Trek ‘23 in a way that makes getting to the individual pages a bit easier.
Other things I will write about here, but I believe appeal to smaller niches of my audience, are Ollie Tips, RVing Tips, Super Duty and Kleen Tank.
Please note that if you are receiving this post by email, you were automatically subscribed to Ollie Tips and RVing Tips when I created those sections some time ago and Substack does not provide me a way of opting you out those two newsletters. Created just recently, I set Super Duty and Kleen Tank to be opt out by default.
To continue following Oliver’s Travels while managing receipt of these niche newsletters, please click on the “hamburger” next to your profile picture like this:
Then click on Manage Subscription like this:
Finally, select your desired newsletters. For example, if you only want posts about our Super Duty truck, you could select just posts about that topic if desired.
And of course, this is where you can Unsubscribe completely if desired.
Finally, a word about Notes. A new short form option Substack recently rolled out, I intend you use it for posts that don’t warrant a full article along with a newsletter via email. I hope you will check it out.
West Quest ‘23 begins on Monday, 26 July as mentioned in my first-ever Note.
Until then, thank you for following Oliver’s Travels.
Thanks you both. Signed up and ready to enjoy your adventures. Joe
Thanks Scott. I'm happy that I was able to help. I enjoy reading about your travels and living vicariously through them.
