From Praise to Beaches to Bunkers to Sightseeing: Another Amazing Day
Albania Mission Trip Day 6
Wednesday, 10 July 2024
Today is our third full day of the retreat and as per our normal routine started off with a staff and prayer meeting.
This was followed by breakfast and then our daily morning worship service.
This morning’s message — again from the Gospel of John — was given in Albanian by Atin Kurraj, Radstock Balkans Director.
At the beach was a nice coffee pavilion where we often gathered to share quality time with each other.
Lunch is served!
After a fun time at the beach, we headed back to the hotel for dinner, and then an evening outing to Zvërnec.
While the retreat guests traveled by bus, the staff packed into the two rental cars. Fortunately, Frieda and I were in the fun car with Esina Kurraj (center) playing DJ while her father Altin drove. And here’s the video version:
To give you an idea where everything is, Zvërnec is at the top of this screenshot while Tragjas (bottom right) is where our hotel is — a distance of about 33 kilometers or about a 45 - 60 minute drive. The beach we’ve been going to is in Orikum.
One of the first things we saw in Zvërnec was another one of the communist-era bunkers.
Besides a beautiful sunset, the primary reason for traveling up to Zvërnec was to see the 14th century monastery and church located at the site.
A fun time was had by all as we wrapped up this amazing day.
See you tomorrow!
